Labor Leadership Briefing/2010 Budget Information
As many of you know, union leadership representing Milwaukee County employees were invited to a briefing yesterday on the 2010 Adopted budget with the County Executive, the Chairman of the County Board and the Chairs of the Finance & Audit and Personnel Committees. The following unions sent representatives to this meeting:
- Association of Milwaukee County Attorneys
- Milwaukee County Firefighters Association
- International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers
- Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals
- Milwaukee Deputy Sheriffs' Association
- Technicians, Engineers and Architects of Milwaukee County
- Milwaukee Building & Construction Trades Council

WALKER LAUNCHES COUNTY ACCOUNTABILITY WEBSITE
MILWAUKEE – County Executive Scott Walker has launched a public accountability “Milwaukee County Accountability Portal (MCAP)” link on the county website. The MCAP site provides information about county division purchases and program disbursements. There are multiple opportunities throughout this site to view data on Milwaukee County government spending.
“New technology allows us to post information for greater transparency in government spending,” said Walker. “We welcome the potential for increased participation from vendors in our community and encourage the public to view where money is spent in county government.”

Using this site, you may:
- Search and view payment totals by county division for each fiscal year beginning with fiscal year 2009.
- Search and view payment totals by category of goods, services, or program disbursements for each fiscal year beginning with fiscal year 2009.
- Drill down to detailed information about the payments.
- Conduct basic or advanced searches for vendors and other recipients of county funds by name based on as much or as little information as you have available.

Milwaukee County Business Opportunity Portal - One Stop Shopping for Businesses
The Business Opportunity Portal is a single source for all open bids and requests for proposals (RFP) from every County department, including County Procurement , the Architectural and Engineering Division of the Department of Transportation and Public Works, General Mitchell International Airport and the Milwaukee County Transit System. Check this site regularly to view the most recent business opportunities with the County as well as any updates or changes to outstanding bids and RFPs.

Milwaukee County's Accident Report Look-up
Crashes investigated by the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office are now available on the Sheriff’s Office website. In a continuing effort to improve customer service, Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. is using technology to make information more accessible to the public. The new accident report website allows a citizen to locate and print a copy of an accident report completed by the investigating deputy. Citizens should allow approximately five working days from the date of the crash for the report to be available on the site.
