2009 Internship Program with Governor Doyle

2009 Internship Program with U.S. Senator Russ Feingold
Senator Feingold is currently accepting applications for the Spring 2009 Intership Program in his Milwaukee, Wisconsin office. These internships are unpaid positions; however, in some instances it may be possible for students to earn credit toward their degree. This internship is open to any college student, graduate student, or recent graduates who are interested.
Qualifications:
Interns must demonstrate effective and accurate communication skills. A minimum of 15 hours per week for a semester is required. Computer experience with Microsoft is a plus, but not required. Those interested should send a resume, cover letter, writing sample, and completed application via postal mail, fax, or hand delivery. Attention High School Students
Students Serving as Election Inspectors Wanted
High School Students who are 16 or 17 years of age, enrolled in grades 9-12, and have at least a 3.0 GPA may apply to serve as election inspectors with the written approval of a parent/guardian.
Students will be required to provide a transcript to serve as verification of age, grade point average, and residency. A set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) regarding the guidelines currently in place for high school election inspectors by the Wisconsin State Elections Board is available on the web site. During the project and for the safety of the public and workers, the regulatory speed limit of Good Hope Rd. from N. 36th St. to N76th St. has been changed to 25 M.P.H. Home Ownership Made Affordable II Project
Housing Resource, Inc. (HRI) is recognized as Milwaukee's largest homeownership service provider successfully working with the most diverse populations to purchase and maintain their homes. Through a collaboration with serveral banks, HRI has received grant funds to provide down payment and closing cost assistance to 60 first-time home buyers in the Milwaukee and Racine County in the amount of $6,000 per household.
